It's official, It is now The Batman no hyphen. Bruce Wayne is reading the paper and sees that a man died recently who was poisoned and turned purple. Bruce Wayne acting as a reporter asks goes to the murdered man's house and talks with his widow,Mrs. Jones. She shares that her husband received a threatening note to pay a half million dollars to Dr. Death or die. Dr. Death is still alive!
Mrs. Jones tells The Batman, they have no money, but she must find the diamonds her husband collected because she needs the money. The Batman tells her to keep her jewels safe.
As The Batman prepares for tonight's encounter, he makes sure his gas vials are restock in his utility belt.
We see The Batman's ears on his cowl are very prominent.
The Batman scales the wall and enter the Jone's house from an upper window. He looks behind pictures that are hung on the wall for a safe.
When The Batman is opening the safe, he is sounding off numbers as if he knows the combination, weird.
What happened to Jabah?
Dr. Death tells Mikhail that The Jones were near bankrupt and to get the priceless jewel so he can take the to Herd The fence.
As The Batman hopes to stall Dr. Death's plan, he hears footsteps and someone picking the door lock outside, he hides in the shadows. He sees it is one of Dr. Death's cossacks, he also notices it is not Jabah, and the cossack is stealing the jewels from the safe.
Coincidentally, Mrs. Jones can't sleep and thinks a glass of hot milk may help. She sees a light on in the next room. As she enters she sees a cossack with the jewel laid out in front of him. Batman springs into action and tackles the cossack and a left hook knocks him out of the window and the cossack is out cold.
Instead of securing the jewels, The Batman packs them up in a loot bag and tosses them at the feet of the unconscious cossack. Mrs. Jones fainted from the ordeal and The Batman carried her to her bed and applies a cold compress.
Mikhail regains consciousness and notices he has the bag of jewels and runs to his car and drives away unaware that The Batman is right behind him. The Batman follows Mikhail to Ivan Herd, who is the jewel fence. The Batman waits for Mikhail to complete his transaction and once again follows him, this time to a seedy part of town.
The Batman surnisses that Dr. Death may have lost everything in the fire and has no choice but to take up residence in the bad part of town.
Unless I missed something, I do not recall seeing the name Gotham as of yet.
The Batman will gain entry through the roof to stay hidden. It appears that this is where Mikhail lives and that he is resting for the night. Batman see him in bed, but certain he has not yet fell asleep, The Batman throws a gas pellet in Mikhail's room where he is succumbed by the knockout gas. With Mikhail unconscious, The Batman searches his room and finds absolutely nothing.
The Batman underestimated the amount of gas and Mikhail comes to and grabs his gun. Like bad guys do, he announces his presence before he takes a shot at The Batman. In order to dodge the bullet, The Batman leaps out of the tall building. The Batman grabs hold of the rope he used to climb the tall building and the momentum swings him to safety.
Mikhail hopes to get a second shot off and goes to the window. The Batman reaching full amplitude, comes speedingly back to the window where he breaks Mikhail's neck.
The Batman has killed again, which we all know Batman does not approve of killing in the future.
The Batman makes a quick call to the police at tell them to go to Ivan Herd's pawn shop. The Batman climbs to a building rooftop close by Ivan Herd's pawn shop.
The Batman seems to plan out his attack and getaway strategy in advance, interesting, very intuitive.
The Batman swings into Ivan Herd's pawn shop and catches him with the jewels. The Batman demands to know who he is working with, and tells him it is Dr. Death. Ivan overturns the table and tries to get away. The Batman takes a second rope and lassos Ivan by the neck. In doing so it knocks off a wig that Ivan was wearing. The Batman takes notices and sees it is not only a wig Ivan is wearing but a skin mask as well. The Batman removes it and sees it is a horribly disfigured Dr. Death. Dr. Death wanted his revenge on The Batman for what had happened the last time they met and was burnt badly in the fire. The Batman times Dr. Death up and leaves him for the Police to find, along with a note.
