Detective Comics #32

Batman Versus the Vampire, Part Two" continues the gothic adventure from the previous issue. Here's a detailed summary:

Batman pursues the villainous Monk, a vampire, to Hungary. While traveling through the Carpathian Mountains, Batman intercepts a speeding stagecoach using a gas capsule. Inside, he finds a woman named Dala, whom he suspects is connected to the Monk. He takes her back to his hotel, where she stays in the same room as Bruce Wayne's fiancée, Julie Madison.

During the night, Batman discovers Dala leaving the room with blood on her lips—she has bitten Julie. Realizing Dala is a vampire, Batman confronts her. Dala offers to reveal the Monk's location if Batman agrees to kill him. Batman ensures Julie's safety and agrees to Dala's terms.

Using his Batgyro, Batman and Dala fly to the Monk's castle. However, the Monk uses magic to ensnare the Batgyro in a giant net, forcing them to land. The Monk hypnotizes Batman and plans to transform Julie into a werewolf. Batman is thrown into a pit filled with wolves but manages to subdue them using a gas pellet. He escapes the pit by combining his silken rope with his Batarang to climb out.

As dawn breaks, Batman finds the Monk and Dala in their coffins. He melts a silver statue to create bullets and uses them to kill the vampires, breaking their spell over Julie. With the danger eliminated, Batman takes Julie and departs in the Batgyro.

This story is notable for its dark, supernatural elements and the introduction of Batman's iconic Batarang as a grappling tool.
